Tomáš has led Eventival since its establishment in 2009. Before founding the company, he co-founded DataKal, creator of the world’s first globally adopted film festival management system, laying the foundations for what would later become Eventival.
Over the years, Tomáš has co-founded several cultural initiatives, including the EuroConnections concert series, MOFFOM, (Music on Film – Film on Music), an international festival of music films (2004-2009), and the Film Festival Academy, an educational platform for film festival professionals. His work has always combined a passion for culture with an interest in improving the way creative organizations collaborate and operate.
Beyond festivals, he spent several years working with Ron and Russell Mael of Sparks on their feature musical The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman and served as Executive Producer of the documentary Never Turn Your Back on Sparks (2014).
Tomáš studied law in Prague and cultural anthropology in Amsterdam, taught English in Bangkok, and translated Our Global Neighbourhood by the Commission on Global Governance and Stigma by Erving Goffman into Czech. His international experience and long-standing involvement in the film festival community continue to shape Eventival’s development and vision.
